SAPPORO -- Hokkaido Gas is branching out to become an electricity retailer.
The company plans to begin the business in fiscal 2016, using energy generated by a 5,000kW-class biomass power plant it will build in partnership with Mitsui & Co., Sumitomo Forestry and Hokkaido lumber company Iwakura.
