Rory McIlroy has announced that he won't play the BMW Masters or WGC-HSBC Champions tournaments and will next appear at the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai.

World No 1, McIlroy, has made the decision to miss the two upcoming events in order to concentrate on his upcoming court case with his former management company Horizon.

A statement revealing the change to his schedule read:  "I'm going to need time away from tournament golf to prepare for the trial over my legal dispute with Horizon Sports Management.

"The court-directed mediation process failed over the weekend to resolve the issue."

The DP World Tour Championship takes place in Dubai from 20-23 November.
