AT LONG LAST: Bollywood actor Dia Mirza finally got married to her long-time beau and business partner Sahil Sangha, in a traditional wedding ceremony at a Chattarpur farmhouse in the capital on Saturday night.
BOLLYWOOD GLAMOUR:
It was a low-key affair with the guest list comprising close family friends and members of both families, and the ceremony included Dia’s friends from B-Town – actors Sushmita Sen, Zayed Khan, Aditi Rao Hydari, Rajkumar Hirani and Lara Dutta, who was there with her husband, Mahesh Bhupathi.
Regulars from Delhi’s social circuit, including Anjanna Kuthiala, were also spotted at the do, ready to welcome the baraatis, who were dancing to Jea Band’s beats.
HYDERABADI BRIDE:
Dia Mirza was dressed in a traditional green sharara designerd by Ritu Kumar. The ensemble comprised a kurta, farshi pajama and a dupatta and was in the Hyderabadi court style, a city in which Dia lived for many years. The bride happily smiled and posed for the shutterbugs as she held Sahil’s hand. She said, “Unfortunately, the wedding couldn’t take place in Hyderabad, but I feel like a typical Hyderabadi bride dressed in a green sharara. We had the wedding in Arya Samaj style and it was beautiful. It was my dream come true.” Sahil, who had opted for a designer sherwani and turban, said, “Puri jaan laga di mere gharwalon ne aur doston ne iss shaadi ke liye. I thank everyone for being here. This is the first time I’m wearing a sherwani. I was bit hesitant whether it’ll suit me or not, but it fits me perfectly.”
NO HONEYMOON!
When we asked the couple about their honeymoon plans, Sahil said, “At the moment, we are planning to celebrate Diwali with family members. We will be heading back to Mumbai after that to work. So, we don’t have any honeymoon plans as of now.”
