The BJP high command observers will go to Mumbai and Chandigarh tomorrow to oversee the election of new chief ministers of Maharashtra and Haryana as leaders of party legislature groups.

While Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and party general secretary Jagat Prakash Nadda have been named as the observers for Maharashtra, Union Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu and party vice-president Dinesh Sharma have been assigned the task for Haryana.

Maharashtra BJP president Devendra Fadnavis is likely to be the new chief minister of Maharashtra. The Haryana scene is not clear yet. The choice of the new leader is tied to the basic issue whether the BJP leadership wants a Jat or a non-Jat for the top post.

However, the suspense would end by the time the two legislature groups meet to formally adopt the names suggested by the high command.
