LUDHIANA: Women of Country Homes had a gala time at a pre-Diwali get-together on Saturday evening. From songs, dance to fashion show and lavish spread, the bash had all the fun ingredients that gave women a hearty good time.
Saloni Chopra, a businesswoman and one of the organizers of the event, said, "Manu Chopra and I organized the pre-Diwali party for the women of Country Homes.
The programme - which saw 60 women in attendance - kicked off with a song "Kurti Malmal ki" by Shivi Mehra. The energy with which she sang the song set the tempo and made everyone tap her feet."
When women are there, can fashion be far behind? "Absolutely not! The dressed-to-the-nines women set the stage afire during the fashion show. Fifteen of them sashayed down the ramp displaying their traditional fineries," she added.
After making a style statement, the women played tambola and antakshri. It was followed by Diwali bumper prizes. Navi, the anchor of the function, sung a beautiful Punjabi song "Maawan thandiyaan chawaan". They then enjoyed delicious food like "naan channa", "gol gappas", "chaat tikki", among others.
Enjoying the event to the hilt, Chint Sandhu, a homemaker, said, "The bash brought all women together and ensured a wonderful evening."
Mehra said, "I like singing. But what made the experience all the more fabulous was the audience's great response."
