MD enumerates Baitul Mal’s feats

KHANEWAL- Pakistan Baitul Mal (PBM) Managing Director Barrister Abid Waheed Sheikh Umar has said that funds of the Baitul Mal is a sacred trust of the public and it has been serving the needy and deserving people without any discrimination and political affiliation.
He said that baitul Mal had been rendering services in various sectors including free medical treatment, education and training centres and rehabilitation centres for forced child labourers. He revealed that a crafts centre for women in Jahanian would be established soon.
The PBM regretted that that sit-ins were not solution to any issue and had been disturbing routine life of the common man. He was addressing a wheel chairs and cheque distribution ceremony held at Nasco Industries here in Jahanian.
The PBM MD informed that the organisation had sponsoring 160 schools wherein poor children were being provided free education across the country.
Earlier, PML-N MNA Chaudhry Iftikhar said that about six months ago he had promised with voters of his constituency and today he had honoured his promise. At the ceremony 257 people were given cheques for Rs5000 each and 200 special persons were provided with wheelchairs.
MPA Karam Dad Wahla, PML-N District President Rao Saadat Ali Khan, former city nazim Haji Attaur Rehman and others also addressed the ceremony.
PASSES AWAY: Meraj Uddin Kanwar, company secretary Fazal cloth Mills Ltd (Fazal Group) died here. He was uncle of DHQ Hospital Cardiologist Dr Amman Ullah Tahir, father of Qamar Mehmood and Omar Mahmood, father-in-law of Director South Asia and Pakistan Oracle company Irfan Shahzad.
Qul Khawani for the departed soul was held in masjid Bahar-e-Madina Shah Rukkan-e-Aalam Multan.  Large Number of people from all walks of life including businessman, doctors, teacher, and politicians attended the Qul Kahwani.
