Citroen thrives as Volvo struggles in Irish market

The Irish car industry grew by a fifth in the 12 months ending May 2014

Two major car brands had contrasting fortunes in Ireland last year, with Citroen enjoying a boost to profits while rival Volvo saw its profits almost halved.

New accounts filed by Citroen Motors Ireland showed 2013 pre-tax profit rose by 8pc to €142,000 last year, on revenue up 8.5pc to €28.69m.
