MANGALORE: Lifeguards of Panambur Beach Tourism Development Project on Sunday saved Narayana Nayak, 35; and Sadesh, 14, from drowning at Panambur beach.
Narayana, son of Vaman Nayak, resident of Nethrakere House, Vittal village and post in Bantwal taluk and Sadesh, son of Rajesh, a resident of Nekkare Kaadu House in Vittal village and post had come with their family members, eight in all, to the beach when the duo were swept away by a strong current.

Narayan works as an autorickshaw driver at Vittal. Till date, life guards of the Project from 2008, have saved 97 lives from a watery grave, Yathish Baikampady, CEO of the project said.
