EOW books cases of cheating and conspiracy

The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) police have registered cases under various criminal offences including cheating and conspiracy against the directors of “Madurai Rural Development Transformation India Limited” and “Madurai Rural Development Benefit Fund India Limited” here on Saturday. According to a press release, following a complaint from V.S. Jayakumar of T. Kallupatti, near here, the police had registered a case under IPC Sections 406, 420, 120 B and Section 5 of TNPID Act 1997 against Suresh Basha, Ramarathnam and Srikumar.

Investigations revealed that the company directors had allegedly lured the complainant of ‘attractive’ returns on investments in their company. Public, who had invested in the above two companies and had not received returns as promised shall approach the EOW office at 2/316 Periyar Street, Tahsildar Nagar, Madurai-20 and lodge complaints with appropriate originals of the receipts among other details. The police would initiate action as per the laws and recover the money through the courts, the press release added.
