Victims can apply online for compensation, says CM Chandrababu Naidu

Mr Naidu said that a separate township will be developed for fishermen

Visakhapatnam: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday said that an official page on popular social networking site Facebook would be created to reach out to people for donations to help rebuild Vizag. These donations include financial support, infrastructure material, saplings for greenery in Vizag and also for relief and rehabilitation to that affected.

“Beautiful Vizag has suffered huge damage as the cyclone struck the city. The new design, to rebuild Vizag will be planned to ensure green cover and also resilience against natural disasters,” he said.

Mr Naidu said that a separate township will be developed for fishermen of Vizag under PPP mode as they lost much in the cyclone.

“Students, youngsters and others from the city will be involved in the relief operations. We will also bring out online applications soon for Vizagites to claim damages for their homes, crops etc. by uploading videos and photos of damage, in the online application, and our teams will verify and clear compensation to all,” Mr Naidu said.

He said that the city is gradually limping back to normalcy and the aim was now to remove the debris and dump it in a suitable place to prevent spread of disease.
