Licenses of 2 medical shops suspended

SRINAGAR, Oct 18: Continuing with its drive of ensuring that people get quality medicines, a team of officers of Drug and Food Control Organization (DFCO) today conducted a surprise check of drug sale establishments in various areas of Srinagar city which include Qamarwari, Bemina, Batmallo, Maisuma, Dalgate, Indra Nagar, Khanyar, Munawarabad, Gousia hospital, Sonawar and Batwara.
During the drive 33 establishments (retail/wholesale) were checked. Licenses of two shops namely M/s Zahoor Medicate, Dalgate and M/s R. Q. Pharmacy Khanyar Srinagar were suspended.
Medicines worth Rs. 9,000 mostly those which were contaminated by the flood water were confiscated on spot.
