NASHIK: Students aspiring to enter the field of media should be able to project their qualities and strive to create an identity of their own, said Chinmay Udgirkar, a Marathi film actor. He was speaking during valedictory function while addressing the students at the day-long youth festival organized at Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU) here on Friday.
Udgirkar said that one should inspire others from their work, they should also work with dedication and do not expect success.

"Acting should evolve from drama or theatre performances. One should trust their skills and attempt to get involved in the character in drama or acting," he added.
He also appealed to the students not to pursue career in the field of media solely due to attraction of fame and money. Students should enter the field because of their passion and interest. "Aspirants should always strive to make their foundation strong and should polish themselves as an actor," Udgirkar added.
The actor later interacted with the students and also answered professional queries explaining them points who aspire to become dancers, actors and other media related fields.
Director of Board of College and University Development (BCUD), Dadasaheb More said that the event is held with an aim to provide platform for students to express their skills. "Many of the students from the university and alumni have excelled in the field at state and national level. Hence the aim to organize such event is also to churn out such potential talent from the university," More said.
Public relations officer, Santosh sable said that the festival saw participation from about 85 students from 10 regional centers located across the state. "The students had already been screened at their respective centers for the competition for the 18 types of events that were held," he added.
