A joy ride of two friends, who were on their way to Chilkur Balaji temple, ended in a tragedy after their vehicle was hit by a lorry coming from the rear at Deer Park on Saturday.

HYDERABAD: A joy ride of two friends, who were on their way to Chilkur Balaji temple, ended in a tragedy after their vehicle was hit by a lorry coming from the rear at Deer Park on Saturday.
Moinabad police said that Nikhil Jaiswal, 23, a resident of Hanuman Tekdi, along with his friend Rithika Agarwal was travelling on a Scooty. Around noon, as they were heading to the temple, a lorry hit them from the rear side.
Rithika escaped with injuries, while Nikhil died on the spot. The lorry driver fled from the scene after the accident.
In another incident, 19-year-old Md Qadar died when a DCM van hit him while he was riding a Honda Activa at Khilwat.
The Hussainialam police said Qadar, a resident of Shankargunj in Shahalibanda, used to work at a bangle store at Laad Bazaar. As he was nearing Khilwat, a DCM hit his Honda Activa and he died on the spot.
