Sports quota in state government jobs soon: Akhilesh Yadav

LUCKNOW: There will now be special quota in government jobs for sportspersons in Uttar Pradesh under a new sports policy, chief minister Akhilesh Yadav announced here on Saturday.
The chief minister was speaking at a programme to award sportspersons from UP for their outstanding performance in the Commonwealth Games at Glasgow and Asian Games at Incheon.
He also announced that the diet grant to sportspersons in government-run sports hostels would be increased so that — upcoming players could get a healthy diet to prepare themselves for competition.
He said he would soon reward coaches and ensure that ad hoc coaches in sports would also be regularized.While presenting awards to sportspersons, the chief minister said that they were being rewarded as they have made the state proud and that rewards would attract more youth towards sports.
