Memorizing the Karsaz incident of 2007, Zardari said that dictator was sent packing within a year

KARACHI: (Dunya News) – Co-Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Asif Ali Zardari has said that late Benazir Bhutto’s mission will continue. Commemorating the Karsaz incident that claimed lives of more than 200 PPP workers, Zardari said that the military dictator was sent packing within one year of the incident.

Addressing the PPP gathering today (Saturday) in Karachi, former President Zardari said that nation salutes the martyrs of Karsaz incident. He said that those workers laid down their lives fighting against the terrorists and the ideology of terrorism.

Asif Zardari said that Benazir Bhutto decided to come back to Pakistan seven years ago because Pakistan was faced by the challenge of dictatorship on one side while extremism on the other. He said that the enemies of Pakistan attacked the PPP workers because they feared democracy.

“Attempts to undermine democracy haven’t ended as yet. There are still people trying to sabotage democratic system”, said Zardari.
