Madhya Pradesh police books Kellogg's MD after judge reported dead lizard in Corn Flakes

Madhya Pradesh police on Saturday registered case against managing director (MD) of the world's largest breakfast cereal maker, Kellogg’s India, after a dead lizard was allegedly found in one of its product by a judge in Satna district.

BHOPAL : Madhya Pradesh police on Saturday registered case against managing director (MD) of the world's largest breakfast cereal maker, Kellogg’s India, after a dead lizard was allegedly found in one of its product by a judge in Satna district.
Additional district judge in Satna district court, Shivakant Pandey lodged a complaint with the civil lines police station alleging that his domestic help and other family members got ill after consuming the ‘Corn Flakes’ of Kellogg’s India.

Case has been registered under Section 269 (Negligent act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life), 272 (Adulteration of food or drink intended for sale) and 273 (Sale of noxious food or drink) of IPC. Proprietor of the shop that sold the product has also been booked.
“We have sent samples for investigations. Dead lizard and the food sample have been sealed for examination,” Ashok Singh, station house officer (SHO) of civil lines police station. Further investigations are on in this regard.
