IIT Kanpur MBA programmes: Criteria and important dates

The Department of Industrial & Management Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology-Kanpur has invited application for admission to its two-year full-time Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme. The course work includes compulsory, specialisation and elective subjects along with special studies in the area of participant's interest. Specialisations offered in MBA include sectoral areas of Service Management and Manufacturing Management and functional areas of Operations, Systems, Marketing, and Finance.

Eligiblity
To apply for admission to the MBA programme at the Indian Institute of Technology-Kanpur for the academic session of 2015-2016, all the candidates must appear for the CAT 2014 examination conducted by IIMs.
For GN and OBC applicants:

• Overall CAT-2014 score of 85 percentile and above is required.
• 65% and above in Class X and Class XII examinations. And
  
• B. Tech., B. Sc. Engineering, B.E. or B. Arch. (Mathematics in Class XII) with aggregate of 65% or a CPI of 6.5 on a scale of 10 from any AICTE recognized institute/university, IITs, NITs, and IIITs.

For SC and ST applicants

• Overall CAT-2014 score of 75 percentile and above is required.
• 55% and above in Class X and Class XII examinations.
• B. Tech., B. Sc. Engineering, B.E. or B. Arch. (Mathematics in Class XII) with aggregate of 55% or a CPI of 5.5 on a scale of 10 from any AICTE recognized institute/university, IITs, NITs, and IIITs.

Candidates appearing for the final degree examination can also apply. Such candidates, if selected, will be admitted provisionally. They have to complete all the requirements of the qualifying degree at the time of joining the course.

How to Apply: Candidates can apply online after the CAT results are declared. Eligible candidates can apply to the MBA programme at IIT Kanpur by filling an online application form and sending a demand draft in favour of Registrar, IIT Kanpur payable at Kanpur.

Application Fee:

• General and OBC: The application fee is Rs 1600.
• SC/ST/PH: The application fee is Rs 800

Important Dates:

• CAT 2014 results will be declared in the third week of December 2014.
• IIT Kanpur will commence the online application process on next day of declaration of CAT-2014 results.
• Last date for submission of online application form will be January 13, 2015.
• Last date for the receipt of demand draft and printout of the completed online application form will be January 20, 2015.
• Announcement of Shortlisted candidates for group discussion and personal interview will be done on February 10, 2015.
• Last date for the receipt of completed application form (hard copy of online application form) with supporting documents (only for shortlisted candidates) will be February 27, 2015
• Group discussion and personal interview will be held on March 19-22, 2015
• Declaration of Results and List of Selected Candidate will be declared on May 4, 2015
