In-Charge Vice-Chancellor of Saurashtra University appointed

Gujarat Governor Om Prakash Kohli has appointed Dr Pratapsinh Chauhan as In-Charge Vice-Chancellor of Saurashtra University (SU) after current Vice-Chancellor Mahendra Padalia's term ended on Friday. Pratapsinh Chauhan is a dean of Commerce Faculty Saurashtra University.

RAJKOT: Gujarat Governor Om Prakash Kohli has appointed Dr Pratapsinh Chauhan as In-Charge Vice-Chancellor of Saurashtra University (SU) after current Vice-Chancellor Mahendra Padalia's term ended on Friday. Pratapsinh Chauhan is a dean of Commerce Faculty Saurashtra University.
The outgoing Vice-Chancellor of Saurashtra University Dr. Mahendra Padalia has expressed his desire that there is an urgent need to create one more university by bifurcating the existing Saurashtra University for better administration and improve quality education.
On Friday, a ceremony was held at SU for outgoing Vice-Chancellor Mahendra Padalia by SU's teaching and non-teaching staff.

Mahendra Padalia, said that presentSUspread over nine districts and over 300 colleges are affiliated with it and its huge administrative task.
"I have also told my views and will continue to put my thoughts in future as well to bifurcate SUin two parts and create another university. Smaller university would be able to improve its quality education. He said.
Padalia was professor at department of Human Rights atSU. He said that he was happy thatSUgot A grade by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), an autonomous body established by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of India, during his tenure as VC.
The meeting of the Search Committee for new Vice-Chancellor ofSUis likely to meet on Monday after the model Code of Conduct is over for the Rajkot-West Assembly bypolls.
