Governor P. Sathasivam has said that the journalist community in the country has to be ‘cautious about their role in a corporate set-up.’
Delivering the 44th convocation address at the Institute of Journalism of the Press Club on Friday, the Governor said though journalists too had to adjust themselves to the changes and changing parameters that had come to stay in society and polity, they had to be cautious about their role in the corporate set-up.
Journalism, he said, was a noble profession, which not only informed the people but also enabled and empowered them. “True journalism should be a reporter of the present and a pointer to the future,” Mr. Sathasivam said.
