Weekend Fixtures: Sale Sharks v Munster, 1.0; Saracens v Clermont Auvergne, 3.15

One to watch: Billy Vunipola (Saracens)

One of the best ball carrying number eights on his day, Vunipola will be expected to pummel the Clermont defence into submission, especially in the absence of Jacques Burger.

Key stat: Saracens averaged more points (31.8) and tries (4.2) than any other team in last season's Heineken Cup.

One to watch: Christian Wade (Wasps)

Arguably the quickest player in the Aviva Premiership, Wade was a late call up to last summer's Lions tour. Along with his blistering pace, he is a devastating finisher with 31 tries in 49 starts to his name.

Key stat: Both teams have an identical record after their opening six games of the season - Won three and lost three.

One to watch: Matt Giteau (Toulon)

Recently named Top14 player of the year, there is extra responsibility on Giteau's shoulders now that Jonny Wilkinson has retired. Crucial to Toulon's back-to-back Heineken Cup wins, the gifted Australian consistently stands out amongst a star studded side and is the man to make them tick.

Key stat: The last time the two sides met was in 2010 in the Amlin Challenge Cup when Toulon ran out 38-12 winners.

One to watch: Kyle Eastmond (Bath)

One of the most highly regarded English centres at the moment, the rugby league convert has the potential to be a major star of this year's competition. His midfield partnership with Jonathan Joseph will frighten any defence, although they will be well tested by Glasgow this afternoon .

Key stat: Despite Glasgow's impressive domestic performances in recent seasons, they haven't reached the knock-out stages in Europe since 1998.

One to watch: Johnny Sexton (Racing Metro)

Ireland's out half has recovered from a jaw injury but question marks will hang over his match fitness ahead of what should be a fierce battle today. Central to Racing's game plan, Sexton will be eager to leave Paris at the end of the season with some silverware.

Key stat: Racing Metro have won just one of their last eight European games.
