23-year-old found hanging in Aldona

MAPUSA: A newly-wed woman from Kasalwada in Aldona committed suicide by allegedly hanging herself to the roof of her house on Thursday.
The body of Vidhi Kerkar, 23, was found hanging from the roof of her bedroom. She was married seven months ago.
According to the Mapusa police, Kerkar ended her life at around 4pm on Thursday, when no other family member was present in the house.
Upon returning home later that evening, Kerkar’s family members reportedly found her room locked from inside and decided to break open the door when she did not respond to their repeated calls. When they saw her body hanging from the roof, they informed the police.
The Mapusa police has registered a case of unnatural death under section 174 of the CrPC. PSI Ratnakar Kalangutkar is the investigating officer.
The body was sent for a post mortem to the Goa Medical College, Bambolim, following a panchanama conducted by PSI Ratnakar Kalangutkar under the guidance of Bardez deputy collector, Sabaji Shetye.
Furthermore, since Vidhi married Vasudev Kerkar only seven months ago, and the death has occurred within seven years of marriage, the Bardez deputy collector is inquiring into the case.
