MSU's Centre of Excellence in Polymers organizes skill development workshop

The Centre of Excellence in Polymers, Department of Applied Chemistry, Faculty of Technology & Engineering, M S University organized an inaugural function of the Skill Development Workshop on Polymers at Chemical Engineering Auditorium, Faculty of Technology & Engineering on Thursday.

VADODARA : The Centre of Excellence in Polymers, Department of Applied Chemistry, Faculty of Technology & Engineering, M S University organized an inaugural function of the Skill Development Workshop on Polymers at Chemical Engineering Auditorium, Faculty of Technology & Engineering on Thursday. The workshop was inaugurated by Dr M H Mehta, Padma Shri and former Vice Chancellor, Gujarat Agricultural University.

The workshop will be held for three days by the centre. During the workshop experts will impart training and practical skills to the ITI students. The workshop will have both theory and practical and the resource persons for the workshop are from both the M S University and from industries around Vadodara. The students will be given practical demonstration about the synthesis, characterization and processing of polymer materials. On successful completion of the course, the students will be given certificates.
In order to enhance the employability of the ITI students and give them skills that can be of help to them, this workshop has been organized. Three ITI’s around Vadodara including ITI Gorwa, ITI Tarsali and ITI Dashrath were approached and these institutes agreed to send students in their final year for this workshop. Skill development has been taken up by the government in the mission mode with a separate ministry handling activities of skill development.
