All India Students’ Federation (AISF) activists on Friday picketed the Kadapa Collectorate demanding sanction of fee reimbursement and scholarship for the year 2013-14.

AISF State general secretary Indukuru Bayanna said students were facing hardship, as college managements were forcing them to pay the stipulated fee. Owing to the drought situation in Kadapa district, students from poor families are not in a position to pay fees, he said.

CPI district secretary G. Easwaraiah demanded that the government declare Kadapa district as drought-affected. “Farmers hoped to get loan waiver, but their hopes were belied by the government,” he alleged.
