CHENNAI: A record was recently set at Ravindra Bharathi Global School for making the biggest greeting card for Teacher’s Day. The entry was at the state level and they were declared as winners by Dr Babu, the president of the Tamil Nadu Book of Records. The card, measuring 35 X 17m was made from 2650 photo charts, and included images of personalities such as Socrates, Aristotle, Enid Blyton, Sudha Murthy etc. Around 140 students also added messages about teachers.

Navaratri festivities at Vidya Nethrra

POLLACHI: Vidya Nethrra Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Gomangalampudur celebrate Navaratri in a grand manner. A golu was set up, and the students were told about the significance of the various steps. Bhajans and slogans were chanted during the poojas. The festival began on September 24 and went on till October 3.

 Founder’s Day at A.V.P Trust School

TIRUPUR: The 10th Founder’s Day was celebrated by the A.V.P Trust Institutions at A.V.P Trust National Matric Hr Sec School, Aathupalayam, to honour their founder A.P. Arul Jothi. Rotarian A.Karthikeyan, chairman of the trust presided over the function. Ponnuthai Aruljothi, secretary of A.V.P Trust Institutions lit the lamp. T.Ramalingam, chief justice of the Chennai High Court was the chief guest for the day, who addressed the students.

Traffic awareness spread by Western Ghats students

 

COIMBATORE: The students of The Western Ghats International undertook a new

project under their ‘My City, My Pride’ banner. Traffic awareness was the theme and it was inaugurated by Elango, Inspector of Police, Kunaimuthur.

The Inspector and his team of 15 male and female constables joined hands with the school students and teachers for the campaign.

The students fixed bull’s eyes stickers on the head lamp and red reflector stickers at the back of every vehicle, to prevent the excessive brightness at night, which causes accidents.

Stickers were stuck on more than 1000 vehicles including two wheelers and four wheelers.

 Exciting times at Nachammal Vidyavani

TIRUPUR: Sri Nachammal Vidyavani celebrated three festivals – Saraswathi Pooja, Bakrid and Gandhi Jayanthi. The function began with sloka chanting, and cultural performances like fusion dance, mime, dandiya and garba, which were put up by the students.

On the sports front, the students took part in the Tamil Nadu State Silambam Championships held at Sivakasi, and bagged many medals. The contingent secured 10 gold medals,10 silver medals, and 19 bronze medals, and clinched the overall championship in the junior category.

The winners were felicitated by the management.
