Uzbek government blocks voice services of Skype, WhatsApp, Telegram, Viber, Mail.Ru Agent [AKIpress News Agency (Kyrgyz Republic)]

(AKIpress News Agency (Kyrgyz Republic) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) There are problems with voice communication services of Skype, WhatsApp, Telegram, Viber and Mail.Ru Agent in Uzbekistan since the end of last week, reported Uzbek Service of RFE/RL.

The problems with the voice communication services are caused the state national telephone operator Uzbektelecom, according to the report.

Subscribers of these services can easily exchange written messages, but voice chat is impossible. The call connection quality drops after several seconds.

Problems with use of VoIP (Voice over IP) began on October 10 and remain still that time.

Internet-based services in Uzbekistan are controlled by the government. Many international organizations have declared Uzbekistan's regime as Internet "enemy" due to the fact that many independent online publications are blocked by the Uzbek government.
