Tragic end: Jobless man commits suicide

As many as 13 people have attempted suicide

FAISALABAD: A man committed suicide on Thursday in Chak 4-JB.

Nishatabad police said that Wasif* had hanged himself from a ceiling fan.

Naveed Akram, a relative of Wasif’s, told The Express Tribune that Wasif had been unemployed for a long time. “He had been trying to get a job. His family was facing severe financial problems,” he said.

“He had applied in various private firms and government department for getting a job. However, he had not succeeded in getting a job so far. He also complained of not having enough money to bribe someone to get a job,” Akram said.

Separately, Saira, a resident of Chak 219-RB, Aashiq, a resident of Chak 243-RB, Zaheer, a resident of Factory Area, Yaseen, a resident of Rabbani Colony, Mushtaq, a resident of Fish Farm area, Kazim, a resident of Islampura, Bashir, a resident of Baoo Wala, Shafqat, a resident of Nishatabad, Aasia, a resident of Mansoorabad, Anjum of Chak 5-JB, Lateef of Rabbani Colony, Shama of Malikpur, Sadia of National Colony and Fakhra of Factory Area too attempted commit suicide. All of them have been hospitalised. They are stated to be out of danger.
