JAMMU, Oct 16: Organized by Army under “Operation Sadbhavna”, a T-20 Cricket Tournament commenced today at Sports Stadium, Poonch.
In the first match of the tournament, Glamorous Cricket Club (GCC) thrashed Ajote Cricket Club (ACC). Batting first the whole team of ACC was bowled out on just 52 runs in 14.5 overs. Chandan was the top scorer with 20 runs. For GCC Rigual took 6 wickets by just giving 10 runs in 4 overs while Nitish took 3 wickets by given 12 runs in his 3 over spell.
In reply GCC easily chased the target in just 6 overs by losing one wicket only. Gurwinder was the highest scorer with 40 runs in 25 balls for GCC.
The 2nd match was played between Youth Cricket Club (YCC) and Government Degree College (GDC), Poonch in which YCC emerged winner.
Batting first, YCC made 152 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. Munish scored 59 runs while Prithpal also added 30 runs to the total. For GDC Poonch, Mukesh took 3 wickets hatrick by giving 25 runs in 4 overs.
In reply the whole batting order of GDC Poonch collapsed in just 61 runs. Mukesh was the highest scorer with 20 runs.
Liyaqat Khan, Account Officer, GP Fund office, was the chief guest while Nirdosh Sharma, Incharge, Sports Stadium, Poonch, was also present.
The matches were officiated by Narinder Singh, Rajinder Singh, Davinder Singh, Surinder Singh, Pawan Kumar and Manik Shah.
The tournament is being organized under the overall supervision of Vijay Kumar, PEM.
