The all-new sixth generation Isuzu KB arrived in Zimbabwe quietly compared to the noise that greeted the arrival of the Isuzu KB 300 double Cab.
It is quite surprising that the current Isuzu’s iconic heritage of innovation, toughness, durability, reliability and functionality has gone unnoticed.
“ With bold new styling, higher levels of comfort and safety together with more powerful engines, the new KB offers an exciting package for the serious bakkie owner and operator,” said Mr Blessing Mupondi who purchased his own recently.

Reliability and durability are of paramount importance in the world of the light commercial vehicle and 4X4’s.

“To this end the new Isuzu KB has undergone a rigorous test and development programme equivalent to more than four million kilometers of driving in conditions ranging from extreme desert heat to the freezing conditions of the North Pole.

“A significant portion of this test and development programme was conducted in Southern Africa by General Motors in preparation for local production of the new Isuzu KB in Port Elizabeth,” said Chevrolet South Africa in one of its publications.

The test conducted on this new machine however proved that it can fit all conditions and Zimbabwe should be no exception.

The larger size of the new KB, together with its smooth and well-proportioned styling, is immediately noticeable.

A reduction in noise, vibration and harshness levels (NVH) experienced in the cab makes the ride experienced in the new KB comparable to that of a passenger vehicle.

New levels of engine bay sound insulation work combines with advanced engine, cab, mounts and the aerodynamic styling to ensure that the new Isuzu KB is one of the quietest vehicles in its class in terms of interior noise levels.

The wedge shaped profile imparts a muscular and sporty expression while at the same time providing a distinct aerodynamic advantage.

In terms of dimensions, the new KB is 260mm which makes it more than 5 percent longer than the previous make (KB 300).

It’s also 60mm wider and 60mm taller representing a difference of 3 percent and 3,5 percent respectively.

This translates in an increase in interior space as well as a more space efficient load box.

The exterior styling of the new KB benefits from extensive computer analysis of the air-flow around the vehicle supported by full-scale wind tunnel testing to prove out the theory in practice.

Built for endurance and hard work, the all new Isuzu KB range has a towing capacity of 2,1 tonnes and 3.5 tonnes, when fitted with an optional heavy duty tow bar.

With a class-leading towing capability of 3 500kg and a payload of up to 1 142 kg, the all-new KB is your vehicle when you want to tow just about any load.

Proving that a reliable ride can be comfortable too, the Isuzu KB Double Cab is as spacious as it is hard-working.

Passengers can look forward to the KB’s legendary ride comfort, spacious rear seating and expanded rear entry and exit areas

According to Isuzu, the ease of entry, exit and comfort ensures an enjoyable ride, even during long hours of travelling.

The all-new range has even eliminated most of the cabin noise and vibration and what you’re left with is a robust hauler that handles like a dream with an interior reminiscent of a luxury car.

The Isuzu KB double cab not only works hard for its money, but also saves money.

The 3.0 L automatic uses a mere 7,8 litres of fuel per 100km, the lowest in its class.

You can travel safely with features such as rear park assist on selected models, ABS that supports EBD electronic brake force distribution and six airbags.

Many of the interior features of the new Isuzu KB offer multiple options for how the occupants might choose to use them. Multiple storage compartments add convenient, safe, and secure stowage for smaller items.
