KMC in forefront in relief

Kakinada: Kakinada Municipal Corporation (KMC) is in the forefront in relief works in North Andhra districts which were hit by Hudhud cyclone. As many as 30 drinking water tankers, 25 tippers to remove debris, 10 oil engines for lifting rain water from slum areas, 2 cranes, 120 sanitary workers, eight electrical workers, 15 fitters and plumbers and others have been sent to Visakhapatnam, said KMC commissioner S. Govind Singh. He said that the KMC is in forefront in relief works in the state.

Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary I.V.R. Krishna Rao appreciated the district collector Neethu Prasad for her rendering services in relief works. Kakinada RDO B.R. Ambedkar said that 120 electric poles have been sent to Vsisakhapatnam from Tallerevu mandal and anther 120 electric poles would be sent from Kakinada in by 8 Lorries.

Reliance Foundation said that a team of the foundation reached out to Visakhapatnam, the cyclone hit city to assist the victims by supplying milk, drinking water, biscuits and fruits. The foundation said that it has been involved in providing relief and rehabilitation through its ‘Mission Rahat’ currently engaged in relief and rehabilitation efforts in flood-affected Jammu and Kashmir. On the same lines, the foundation volunteers went to Visakhapatnam to help the victims.
