All India Radio – Tirupati will be conducting ‘Akashvani Sangeeth Sammelan – 2014’ on October 18 at the local Mahathi Auditorium from 6 p.m. The local radio station of Prasar Bharati (India’s public service broadcaster) at Tirupati, has been selected among several others stations for conducting the prestigious event, this year.
Two programmes, one musical and one vocal, will be held at the venue in which denizens of the temple city can participate. The musical programme would be led by Inupakurthi Manmadha Rao (saxophone) accompanied by M. Suryadeepthi (violin), D. Dharma Rao (mridandam) and K. Shyam Kumar (kanjira). The vocal programme would be delivered by S.V.N. Chandanabala (Karnatic vocal) accompanied by V. Nalina Mohan (violin), Adamya Ramanand (mridangam) and M.R. Manjunath (ghatam).
Interacting with the media, here on Thursday, Assistant Director of Programmes (AIR Tirupati) K. Vijaya said that the event would be recorded both in the studio as well as live, and sent to Prasar Bharathi’s Office in New Delhi. “ The programmes would be aired in November, she said.
