Rally's signs franchising deal with former Quiznos owners

Checkers and Rally's Restaurants Inc. has announced that Jaswant Singh and Ashish Thapar will open their first restaurant together – a Rally's location – in Indianapolis by summer of 2015.

Thapar and Singh plan to open at least three Rally's restaurants together over the next three years. According to a news release, Singh has been a business owner since 1992, when he independently built and operated restaurants and a real estate company in New York before running a restaurant in South Carolina, and then Florida. Following, Singh relocated to Indianapolis and opened a Quzinos, a real estate office, and a gas station/convenience store company. He said he sees a growth opportunity with Rally's and sold his Quiznos to focus his attention on the Rally's brand.

Thapar joins the brand with experience as a business owner and investor. He and his partners run a medical practice in the Indianapolis area.

"Rally's continues to attract a loyal following of fans, which in turn has created a demand for more restaurants across the nation. Through the efforts of business-savvy entrepreneurs such as Jaswant and Ashish, we are able to meet this demand and serve more communities," VP of Franchise Development Jennifer Durham said in the release.

Rally's is focused on growing in markets such as Atlanta, Baltimore, Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Detroit, Los Angeles, Miami, Philadelphia, New York and Washington DC, among other cities.
