CIIT echoed with ‘Go Nawaz Go’

‘Go Nawaz Go’ slogan were chanted at COMSATS Institute of Information Technology Sahiwal as a protest against the use of a helicopter by 4 Punjab ministers, the IGP Punjab and home secretary to reach here for reviewing the Muharram arrangements.
As the students raised slogans of ‘Go Nawaz Go’, the officialdom had to use another helipad for landing. They included Punjab ministers Shujaah Khanzada, Malik Nadeem Kamran, Mian Shujaur Rehman and Bilal Yaseen, former minister Rana Sanaullah, IGP Muhammad Mushtaq Sukhera and Home Secretary Maj (R) Azeem Sultan.
After landing the chopper at a helipad situated at Mall Mandi Ground, they reached Circuit House Sahiwal to attend the meeting regarding the arrangements pf Muharramul Haram. The workers of PML-N said that the incident took place because of poor arrangements made by the district administration.
During another meeting, Vehari DPO Sadiq Ali Dogar said that arrangements have been finalised for maintaining peace and law and order during Muharramul Haram and no one will be allowed to promote hatred through provocative speeches, wall-chalking or audio/video cassettes.
He directed the police to maintain a close coordination with the members of peace committees, ulema and traders’ representatives at the local level and deal sternly with the elements spreading dissension in the masses.
He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting of regarding Muharramul Haram arrangements in Mailsi here at DSP office on Wednesday.
The members of peace committee, ulema of all schools of thought attended the meeting. He directed to ensure strict implementation of the ban on misuse of load speakers and wall chalking and said that police should maintain a watchful eye on miscreants so that no one could disturb peaceful atmosphere.
On the occasion, DSP Shabbir Ahmad Waraich informed the DPO that there was complete harmony between the followers of all schools of thought in Mailsi and every effort would be made to maintain peace.
Haji Muhammad Ameen, Muhammad Aslam Khan Yousafzai, Abdul Razaq Qureshi, Syed Azhar Abbas Shah, Mahar Abdul Ghafar, Sheikh Saleem and Qari Asghar Ali attended the meeting.
Likewise, a police official said that the sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain is a unique one and its example cannot be repeated.
DSP Hafeez Ahmed Aulak said this while addressing a meeting held in connection with Muharramul Harram here on Wednesday. The meeting was attended by Model City Police SHO Muhammad Khan, District Ulema Board Secretary Syed Khadim Hussain Naqvi, Maulana Shairbaz Khan, Maulana Shair Zaman, Anjuman Janisaran Hussain President Syed Raza Haider Naqvi, Senior Vice President Syed Athar Hussain Zaidi, Shia Ulema Council District President Syed Gul Haider Naqvi, Imambargah Husainia President Syed Mohammad Aqeel Naqvi, Muharram procession Licence Holders Syed Mohammad Abbas Naqvi, Zahid Hussain Zaidi and Syed Kazim Ali Naqvi.
The participants were informed that strict security measures had been taken on the routes of Muharram processions, while generators had also been arranged.
The DSP said that terrorists had no religion and no belief and people must defeat them by showing full religious harmony and cooperation with the law enforcements agencies. The participants of the meeting appealed to the general public to keep vigil on their surroundings and keep the administration informed about any mischievous element they find around them in their own and public interests.
The meeting also approved the installation of sufficient law enforcement personal and modern equipments in and around the city to block the entry of and penetration into the city during Ashura Muharram.
