European Commission President-elect Jean-Claude Juncker gave Slovenia’s Violeta Bulc the transport portfolio and moved Slovakia’s Maros Sefcovic to coordinate energy policies in a shuffle of his incoming team.

The changes follow the resignation of Alenka Bratusek, Slovenia’s previous candidate slated to become vice president for energy union, whom European Parliament lawmakers rejected after a hearing earlier this month. Limiting the number of altered portfolios to two may help Juncker avoid the risk of his team not taking office on time at the start of next month.
