NASHIK: A woman police sub-inspector was alleged manhandled by a woman voter at a polling station near Wagh Guruji School on Gangapur Road on Wednesday afternoon. The sub-inspector asked the woman to park her bike outside the 200-mt radius of the polling station.
The Gangapur police have booked the woman and her husband for deterring a public servant from performing his/her duty.
The woman sub-inspector, Sarita Jadhav, has lodged a complaint against the duo. The Gangapur police said the woman and her husband, both residents of Udaynagar on Gangapur Road, had come at the polling centre to cast their votes. However, the couple brought their bike right near the polling booth. Jadhav asked the duo to park the vehicle outside the 200-mt radius of the polling station.
However, the woman argued with Jadhav saying other bikes were parked near the polling station and why should she park her vehicle outside the limit. An argument ensued and Jadhav hit the woman with her cane. The duo then kicked the cop in her stomach.
