Radhika Apte and Fahadh Faasil play a ‘mismatched couple’

Vinod Sukumaran’s upcoming film will see Fahadh Faasil and Radhika Apte playing a married couple, a mismatched one at that. The story is set in a metro city, and starts off at a point where the duo is on the verge of separation, says the director. “The film is about the problems in their life, and looks back at their marriage. A parallel story runs, about a couple in love who are not yet married, and examines the issues in their relationship as well.
The two stories crisscross,” he says. The second couple is played by Sreekumar and Rajashree Deshpande.
Expectedly, the film will have a realistic treatment, considering the track record of its director. Vinod Sukumaran has worked as an associate with director Shyamaprasad for several of his films, starting with Agnisakshi. He has won State and National Awards as film editor and documentary filmmaker and this will be his first full length feature film. Radhika Apte is also known for her theatre work and for her choice of films, which veer towards the offbeat. The reason why he chose the actress was exactly this, says Vinod. “We wanted a bold and mature actress for the character, and Radhika is a good performer. I am impressed by her.”
Satheesh Kurup is the cinematographer for the film, for which shoot is progressing.
