Most of the private junior colleges in Nalgonda district are cheating on students by collecting Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,500 towards annual examination fee though the stipulated fee by Board of Intermediate Education was just Rs 290 and Rs 390 respectively for Ist and IInd year students respectively. Nalgonda district is having 243 junior colleges in which 159 are private.

As many as 77,000 students were studying Intermediate in which a majority of them have taken admission in to private colleges.

Speaking to , a parent, whose child was admitted in to a private junior college located on Hyderabad road in Nalgonda, said that the college had collected Rs 1,000 towards examination fee though the stipulated fee was Rs 290. The parents said that the college management was rude in their reply when they questioned the management over collecting the excess amount and asked them to withdraw the students from their college if he does not want to pay the amount. When sought an explanation, a principal of the a private college, said they were collecting Rs 1,000 because they were investing lot of money on conducting weekly and monthly tests, but the parents say they have made payments towards all these at the time of admission. Meanwhile, Telangana Rastra Vidyardhi Samithi (TRSV), state leader, B.Nagarjuna, said that they have already submitted a memorandum to Regional Inspection Officer (RIO) of Intermediate Education.

However, the student leader said the RIO, N.Prakashbabu, had taken no initiative to curb the practice so far.

He further said it also came to their notice some of the college managements were collecting Rs 2,500 towards examination fee due to lack of monitoring and alleged that the regional office of Board of Intermediate Education grossly failed to monitor the functioning of private colleges as they never made inspection to these colleges, while the parents were fearing to lodge complaints against the managements. When quetioned, Mr.Prakashbabu told they would certainly initiate action against the college managements if any parents complains them. However, he had no answer that why did not act upon the complaints of student organisations.
