Pappayude Swantham ‘Appoos’ returns to M-Town
Ever wondered what happened to Badhshah, the naughty little boy who played Mammootty’s son in the hit movie Pappayude Swantham Appoos two decade ago?
Well, the cherubic boy has grown up to be a hot hunk, and is all set to play a lead role in the upcoming Malayalam film Mumbai Taxi. The movie helmed by Faasil Basheer and written by Jaison T John will start rolling next year.
Though Badhshah won a State Award for his debut film, he took a break from acting to focus on his studies. “After Pappayude Swantham Appoos, I got many movie offers. Unfortunately, nothing really impressed me. Moreover, I wanted to give importance to my studies, and hence I put my acting career on hold for some time,” says Badhshah, who went on to do a Masters in business management.
So, what made him come back to films? “I have always been interested in movies. However, I want to make the right moves. When I heard the script of Mumbai Taxi, I totally loved it and decided to take it up,” says Badhshah, who is tight-lipped about the other details of the racy thriller.
“As the title suggests, the movie is set against the backdrop of Mumbai city and I play a taxi driver. I don’t have the liberty to divulge other details. The movie narrates the happenings of a single day and has a thrilling storyline,” says Badhshah, who is also the nephew of the late actor Cochin Haneefa.
The actor confides that he is a bit nervous about his comeback debut. “I am going to face the camera after a long time and I am nervous, but I am also happy about my decision. Working with Fazil uncle and Mammootty was an unforgettable experience, and I hope I will have fun working in this movie too,” he signs off.
