Ethiopian IT firm wins contract to install 50 ATMs for Nib International Bank

Moti Engineering will deliver the machines within 60 days; with this order, Moti will have supplied a total of 949 ATMs to Ethiopian banks.


Ethiopia's Nib International Bank and Moti Engineering Plc have entered an agreement under which the IT dealer will supply and install 50 ATMs for the private bank. The project has a total value of 14 million birr ($700,000).

According to a report by All Africa, the machines from NCR Corp. will be connected to Premiere Switch Solutions, a shared ATM network that was formed in July 2012 and currently comprises seven member banks in Ethiopia.

Moti must deliver the 50 ATMs to NIB within 60 days of the contract signing. With this order, Moti will have supplied a total of 949 ATMs to Ethiopian banks, according to the All Africa report.

Ethiopia currently has a ratio of .46 ATMs per 100,000 adults, World Bank data shows.
