Ferrari bash features new F60 supercar debut

Ferrari is celebrating its 60th anniversary in the U.S. by unveiling its slick, new supercar.

BEVERLY HILLS — In a city that's all about exclusivity, Ferrari couldn't have picked a more appropriate place to unveil a new supercar that is out of reach of even most of its own customers.

Even if you wanted to buy a F60 America, you can't, Ferrari officials say. Only 10 are being made, and they were all claimed before the famed Italian brand even pulled the sheet off of it. Never mind the price: 2.5 million Euros, which is more than $3.1 million.

Ferrari says the car encompasses customers' "two great passions — the V-12 engine and open-top driving." It's good for zero to 60 miles per hour in 3.1 seconds, and the fabric roof can be closed at speeds up to 75 mph.

The car was unveiled as part of Ferrari's celebration of its 60th anniversary in the U.S., an event that brought thousands of car enthusiasts to see 60 famous Ferraris lined up on Rodeo Drive. With all the Ferrari clubs that participated, officials counted 1,013 Ferraris at the event.
