President: A couple of brigades to be created to defend Kharkiv region

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said that a new system of deployment of the armed forces is meant to defend the south of Kharkiv region.

"[During the working trip to Donetsk and Luhansk region] we agreed that there would be a new system of deployment of the armed forces, including for defense of Kharkiv in the south. There will be a couple of brigades in Severodonetsk and other places as well. I think I shouldn't disclose where they will be located. But the main and crucial [thing] is that a peaceful life – our peaceful life – will be well protected. We'll be able to preserve it, when we remain united, maintain unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity of our state," Poroshenko said at the meeting with citizens of Kharkiv region in the recreation center of Yaroslav the Wise National Law University.

As reported, during his visit to Severodonetsk (Luhansk region) the president urged to create a permanent military brigade in the town.

"Poroshenko urged to create a permanent military brigade in Severodonetsk," President's press secretary Sviatoslav Tseholko wrote in Twitter on October 10.
