At least two Chairman of State govt corporations asked to step down

At least two Chairman of Board/Corporation are ask to step down from their post as their three-year tenure has been over.
BJP leader Zaverbhai Chavda is one of the Chairmen asked to step down. Chavda was appointed Chairman of Gujarat State Schedule Cast Development Corporation by then Narendra Modi government in February 2011. His three years term ended early this year. He has been sent a letter in this regard by Managing Director. Chavda has however protested this directive. He said Managing Director is not above Chairman, and he is just a government servant who can’t ask politically appointed Chairman to step down. Chavda said that the rule about his tenure specifies that it is either for three years or till the next order. He said he has completed his three years term, but until the next order is out, he can continue on his post even for ten years.
The other person who has been asked to step down from the post is Chairman of Minority Finance and Development Corporation Imtiyaz Pathan. His appointment was also made by then Narendra Modi government in February 2011.
In February 2011, then Modi government had made several appointments including appointment of BH Godasara as Chairman of Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation, Vadibhai Patel as Chairman of Gujarat State Khadi Gramodhyog Board, Bharatbhai Rathod as Chairman Landless Labors and Halpati Housing Board, Shri K.T.Bhil is Chairman Gujarat State Forest Development Corporation and Ahmedbhai Patel, A.I.Saiyad, Sajjad Hira, Sabirbhai Kabliwala(Congress MLA from Amdavad), Sirajbhai Makadia, Aamadbhai Jat, Badaruddin Halani and Rafiqbhai Lalbhai Kundiwala as members of Gujarat State Wakf Board.
