She did it again. I.Hanu Priya, a Standard XI student of the Crescent Castle Public School, who had as a Standard IX student made her alma mater proud by bagging the first prize in the State level English elocution competition organised by the Forest Department as part of the Wildlife Week celebrations in 2012, has again emerged victorious in the same competition held recently in Chennai.

Having won the district level competition earlier, she was selected to represent The Nilgiris.

Speaking on ‘Nurturing young minds to take heed to the global issue - deforestation’, she had impressed the judges by highlighting the fact that nature and the future of mankind were inextricably intertwined. School correspondent G.Umar Farook said that her encore was not unexpected because her track record particularly in presentations on flora and fauna was impressive.

Ms. Hanu Priya, who belongs to Denad , a Badaga village, said that people should be made aware of the significance of such competitions. The Nilgiris Collector P.Sankar commended Ms.Hanu Priya.
