MNS will not fight LS polls again: Raj
MUMBAI: MNS chief Raj Thackeray on Monday said his party would not contest the LokSabha polls henceforth, reports SujitMahamulkar. He said regional parties should rule states while the Centre should be left to national parties.
Brushing aside his party’s flop show in the LS polls, he said, “Even Indira Gandhi had to taste defeat, BJP had only 2 seats at one time.
I was not convinced about fighting the LS polls, but a few factors ensured I did.”
Addressing the media in the city, he urged people to ensure a single-party rule in the state, saying they could hold it responsible for its actions. Criticising PM Modi for his Maharashtra poll drive, Raj said he should now realize that he is not a CM anymore. Pitching for autonomy for smaller states, he said he plans to write to all CMs seeking support on the issue.
