AMC fails to start several major budgeted works: Congress

Leader of opposition in Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation(AMC) has in a statement pointed out AMC’s failure to start even initial work for the projects promised in anual budget.
Leader of opposition Shri Badurddin Sheikh in his statement said that AMC has yet not started even initial works for Rs. 1 crore revamping of Town hall, Rs. 7 crore work for Arogya Bhuvan replacing existing TB hospital, Rs. 65 crore work for 2 new railway over bridges, Rs. 57 crore works for 3 flyover bridges, Rs. 40 crore works for flyover bridges on 3 main junctions, Rs. 11 crore works for 5 new community halls, Rs. 2 crore work for Vastral canal bridge, Rs. 12 crore works for 12 new multistory parkings.
Shri Sheikh alleged that due to poor financial condition, AMC has not been able to install new street light poles in last five months. AMC has been able to allote only Rs. 8 lakh against Rs. 26 crore for this task.
He alleged that AMC has been able to do only budgeted works by Councillors and MLAs. He said even TP roads are without street lights.
