Gurgoan: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who launched the clean India campaign, on Sunday asked the people who had gathered for his rally here to clean up the venue before leaving.
As per reports, most of the people present at the rally listened to the PM and did clean up the place before they left.
They were said to be seen collecting garbage and tidying the place after Modi had left.
Swachh Bharat mission was launched on October 02, the birth anniversary of Mahatama Gandhi, by the PM. It is a drive that is expected to cost nearly Rs 2 lakh crore.
Asserting that 'Swachh Bharat' mission was 'beyond politics' and inspired by 'patriotism', he had invoked Mahatma Gandhi's vision of a 'clean and developed' India, as per PTI.
At a function at Rajpath in the national capital, Modi administered a pledge to people to make India clean, but not before himself sweeping the pavement in Valmiki Basti, a colony of sanitation workers.
Modi has been on a hectic campaign trail both in Maharashtra and Haryana, where Assembly elections are scheduled for October 15.
The counting of votes will be done on October 19.
