Manu Gandas won India’s third medal at the Youth Asian Games by finishing second in the men’s individual strokeplay at the Zhangshan International Golf Club in Nanjing on Tuesday.

Gandas finished two shots behind gold winner and Chinese Taipei’s Yu Chun-An, who ended with an overall total of 203. Thailand’s Boonma Danthai shot 207, which was good enough for the bronze.

Another Indian in the fray Viraaj Madappa was tied ninth.

“I was totally relaxed but my performance could have been better,” Gandas said.

On his competition experience, he said: “I came fifth in individual play in the Mercedes Asian Junior tournament. Now I look forward to coming back here for the Youth Olympics.”
