Roundup: Dalyn Williams leads Dartmouth past Yale

The halftime break turned out to be just what Dartmouth needed.

The Big Green outscored Yale, 24-7, after the intermission en route to a 38-31 victory on Saturday in New Haven.

Quarterback Dalyn Williams powered into the end zone from 2 yards out with 2:20 left in the game.

The Big Green had tied the score at 31 after Alex Gakenheimer kicked a 35-yard field goal with 7:30 left in the fourth.

Yale went three-and-out on its next possession, and Dartmouth drove 11 plays in four minutes for Williams's winning score.

Williams threw for 388 yards and three TDs and was sacked seven times. Ryan McManus had 12 receptions for 188 yards and one touchdown for Dartmouth (3-1, 2-0 Ivy).

Yale (3-1, 1-1) drove to the Dartmouth 37 on its final drive, but Morgan Roberts threw four straight incompletions.

Roberts finished with 302 yards passing and a TD but was picked off three times.

Brown 27, Holy Cross 24 — Grant Senne kicked a 23-yard field goal in the second overtime, lifting the Bears over the Crusaders in Providence.

Marcus Fuller opened the overtime period for Brown (2-2) with a 25-yard strike to Brian Strachan.

Holy Cross (2-5) answered with a 21-yard touchdown pass from Peter Pujals to Kalif Raymond, but Connor Fitzgerald missed a 39-yard field goal attempt four plays later.

New Hampshire 32, William & Mary 3 — Andy Vailas threw for 276 yards and three TDs — two to Nico Steriti — and the Wildcats (5-1, 3-1 Colonial Athletic) roughed up the Tribe (4-2, 1-1) in Durham, N.H.

Steriti added a rushing touchdown for UNH, which held William & Mary to 217 total yards.

Stony Brook 19, Maine 7 — Daniel Collins connected with Jeremy Salmon for a 73-yard score on their second play but the Black Bears (2-4, 1-2 Colonial Athletic) were held to just 31 yards after halftime in a loss to the host Seawolves (3-4, 2-1).

Villanova 44, URI 21 — James Caparell had 249 yards passing and two TDs but the Rams (0-6, 0-2 Colonial Athletic) fell to the host Wildcats (5-1, 3-0).

Villanova has scored 40 points in five straight games, a school record.

Tulane 12, UConn 3 — The Huskies (1-5, 0-3 American Athletic) turned the ball over three times and incurred a safety in a loss to the Green Wave (2-4, 1-1) in New Orleans.

Sacred Heart 52, Robert Morris 13 — RJ Noel threw for 295 yards and three touchdowns as the Pioneers (5-1, 1-0 Northeast) rolled at home.

Duquesne 28, Central Conn. 20 — Rob Hollomon rushed for 131 yards but the host Blue Devils (2-4, 1-0 Northeast) fell to the Dukes.

Trinity 35, Tufts 14 — Chudi Iregbulem rushed for 184 yards and four TDs to power the Bantams (4-0 NESCAC) to their 53d straight home victory.

Trinity's defense recorded three interceptions, one fumble recovery, and five sacks.

Chance Brady rushed for two TDs; his first gave the Jumbos (2-2) a 7-0 lead in the first quarter.

Middlebury 23, Williams 20 — Matt Milano threw two TD passes — one with 59 seconds left in regulation and the other in overtime — to help the Panthers (2-2 NESCAC) edge the Ephs (1-3) in Williamstown.

Joseph Mallock made a 22-yard field goal to open OT, putting Williams up, 20-17.

Lewis Hayes led the Ephs' offense with 116 yards and a touchdown on four catches.

Bowdoin 30, Hamilton 24 — The visiting Polar Bears scored 24 points in the second half to topple the Continentals (0-4 NESCAC). Bowdoin (2-2) was aided by a defense that registered three sacks, seven tackles for loss, a fumble recovery, and three interceptions.

Tyler Grant had 97 yards rushing and two TDs — both in the fourth quarter — and Andrew Sisti nailed three field goals to power the offense.

Wesleyan 24, Bates 10 — Jesse Warren led a balanced attack with 262 yards passing, and three players scored touchdowns as the Cardinals (4-0 NESCAC) beat the Bobcats (1-3) in Lewiston, Maine.

Bates managed only 164 yards of offense and was 2 of 13 on third downs.

Amherst 35, Colby 10 — The host Lord Jeffs (4-0 NESCAC) scored all of their points in the second half en route to their 19th straight win over the Mules (0-4).

Raheem Jackson rushed for two scores and Max Lippe passed for 142 yards and two TDs on seven completions.

Western N.E. 34, Salve Regina 31 — In Springfield, Kevin Cook rushed for 119 yards and two scores as the Golden Bears tipped the Seahawks.

Cook set the Western New England program record for career rushing yards on a 64-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. He now has 3,444 yards, 43 more than Marvin Langley had from 1998-2001.

Tyler Ward scored the go-ahead touchdown for the Golden Bears (5-0, 3-0 NEFC) with 1:34 left in the game.

Dan Buonocore had 231 yards rushing and 74 yards receiving to pace Salve Regina (2-4, 1-2).

Endicott 26, Nichols 16 — Behind Drew Frenette's 330 yards passing and four touchdowns, the host Gulls (4-2, 3-0 NEFC) topped the Bison (1-5, 0-3) for their fourth straight victory.

Coast Guard 17, Curry 0 — Kyle Wood had six tackles and 2½ sacks for a defense that allowed just 18 yards rushing, and the Bears (3-3, 2-1 NEFC) shut out the Colonels (0-6, 0-3) in New London, Conn.

AIC 48, Saint Anselm 26 — Kevin Arduino passed for 346 yards and four TDs, helping the visiting Yellow Jackets (5-1, 5-0 NE-10) upend the Hawks.

Yianni Gavalas had 355 yards passing and rushed for two scores for Saint Anselm (5-1, 4-1). Gavalas's two scores gave the Hawks 17 rushing TDs on the season, matching the program season record set in 2001.

Saint Anselm wide receiver Justin Bernard (11 catches, 119 yards) had his 36th straight game with a reception, setting a school record.

New Haven 27, Southern Conn. 14 — Joey Bradley passed for 256 yards and three TDs and the host Chargers (3-3, 3-2 NE-10) beat the Owls (1-5, 1-4) to claim the Elm City Trophy.

LIU-Post 28, Stonehill 25 — Steve Laurino found Shane Hubbard for a 2-yard strike with 22 seconds left to lift the Pioneers (4-2, 4-1 NE-10) in Brookville, N.Y.

Deontae Ramey-Doe had given the Skyhawks (2-4, 2-3) a 25-21 lead on a 6-yard TD plunge with 2:50 left.

Merrimack 28, Bentley 25 — In Waltham, Luke Bakanowsky passed for 346 yards and two touchdowns and Devonte Jones recorded an interception with under two minutes remaining to preserve the victory for the Warriors (3-3, 3-2 NE-10).

Danny Guadagnoli passed for 308 yards and two TDs for the Falcons (1-5, 0-5).

Western Conn. 30, Mass. Maritime 19 — Michael Nichol passed for 188 yards and two scores while adding 157 yards rushing in the Colonials' comeback win in Bourne.

Tory Mack added 147 yards and two scores on 18 carries for Western Connecticut (4-2, 3-1 MASCAC).

Quarterback John Trudel led Massachusetts Maritime (1-4, 0-3) with 244 yards of offense and accounted for two TDs.

Fitchburg State 30, Worcester State 24 — Garrett Dellechiaie (397 yards passing, four touchdowns) led the Falcons (5-1, 3-1 MASCAC), who amassed 552 yards in a pasting of the host Lancers (3-2, 1-2).

Phillip Saint-Juste and Devin Summiel combined for 332 yards and three touchdowns on 19 catches for Fitchburg State.

Framingham State 28, Westfield State 7 — Matt Silva connected with Tevin Jones for three touchdowns, Jalen Green had a 91-yard touchdown scamper, and the Rams (5-1, 4-0 MASCAC) cruised past the Owls (3-2, 2-1) in Framingham.

WPI 23, Union 7 — The host Engineers (2-4, 1-2 Liberty) relied on defense to defeat the Dutchmen, recording four interceptions (one returned for a score) and five sacks.

Hobart 37, Springfield 7 — The visiting Pride (4-2, 2-1 Liberty) managed only nine first downs and 175 yards of offense in a loss to the Statesmen, the No. 8 team in Division 3.

Castleton State 65, Anna Maria 9 — The Spartans (4-1, 2-0 ECFC) returned three of their program-record-tying five interceptions for scores, set a program record for points, and George Busharis totaled four TDs (three passing) in a rout of the visiting Amcats (0-5, 0-2).

Gallaudet 16, Becker 12 — The Hawks (0-5, 0-2 ECFC) suffered an agonizing defeat as quarterback Dylan McGuire threw an interception that led to the Bison's winning touchdown with 3:13 left in the game.

Norwich 28, Mount Ida 19 — Al Georgio rushed for a career-high 247 yards and two TDs as the host Cadets (3-2, 1-1 ECFC) beat the Mustangs (1-4, 1-1).

Husson 40, Maritime St. 0 — John Smith rushed for 153 yards and two scores, and the visiting Eagles (3-1, 2-0 ECFC) allowed just 97 yards of offense (minus-2 rushing).
