Go, Power Rangers!

Interesting interaction with three Power Rangers kept little DC readers entertained

Hyderabad: Since the announcement of our Power Rangers contest, there have been numerous entries from our young readers, who wished to meet the superheroes. Deccan Chronicle had asked children to write in about what superpower they would like to have, and how they would use the power to make the world a better place to live in. And a few of the answers did make us all go aww.

Winner P. Aryan Raj, 10, had written: “I would want super strength but with good flexibility. And with all the strength I would like to fight criminals, especially those who trouble women. I also don’t like people who litter the roads or use foul language, so I would take them to task as well.”

Sardar Kuljeeth Singh says, “I want to use my powers for people who are in need, develop our country and save the world from evil.” Seemingly inspired by all the medals that India won in the recent Asian Games, best answers came from Nimra Khan who is just four. Nimra, who said that she “likes the long jump and high-speed power” of one of the Power Rangers, Dax, and wants the power to win gold medals for the country.

On Friday, eight children were invited over for a special interaction with three of the Power Rangers at the Deccan Chronicle office. As they wished for “powers” to make the world a better place, they were trained by the Rangers to conjure, well for now, their own natural powers.

“I want to learn the Red Rangers power symbol,” came one enthusiastic voice while another piped in saying, “I want to learn sword fighting.”

The happy well-intentioned bunch of children all had one thing in common — they all want to save the world from evils — and once they were done with all that they wanted to learn. They went home with goody bags.

Speaking about the Power Rangers’ visit to Hyderabad, Nina Elavia Jaipuria, EVP & Business Head, Kids Cluster, Viacom18 Media Pvt. Ltd. says, “The Nickelodeon franchise believes in the Touch, Play and Feel mantra and we keep this at the core of everything we do. By bringing these action super heroes to Hyderabad, we are sure to create excitement and fun amongst ardent Power Ranger fans.”

Our only regret? The interaction held on a school day kept a few children from making it to the interaction. But kids, we sure did enjoy all your amazing entries!
