Police bust LPG racket; two arrested, 15 cylinders seized
The Airport police on Friday busted an liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) racket after a raid at Kalwad Vasti in Lohegaon.Police seized 15 cylinders and arrested two delivery boys.
PUNE: The Airport police on Friday busted an liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) racket after a raid at Kalwad Vasti in Lohegaon. Police seized 15 cylinders and arrested two delivery boys.
The individuals were transferring liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) from domestic use cylinders into those used for commercial purpose.
The police said the suspects, Ashok Mohanram Bishnoi (20) and Hanuman Baburam Bishnoi (21), are both from Kalwad Vasti in Lohegaon.Two others, including the mastermind of the racket, are untraceable.
Vitthal Darekar, inspector of the Airport police station, said police constable received a tip-off after which a team raided the spot in Kalwad Vasti.
"The suspects used to sell these cylinders at higher prices."
Darekar said the suspects were sent to police custody till Saturday. "We are investigating further," he added.
