Speeding police vehicle kills two in Nizamabad

Two men were killed on the spot when a speeding police vehicle hit them at the RTC bus stop at Akbarnagar under Varni police station limits on Friday morning.

The vehicle is assigned to to Circle Inspector of Police, Banswada (rural) and the mishap occurred when the CIP Ramana Reddy was on his way to Bodhan via Varni. His driver Ravi was on the wheels when the incident happened. Mr. Ravi has been taken into police custody, according to the Bodhan DSP Mohammed Tajuddin.

Belonging to Akbarnagar and Sangli in Maharashtra respectively the victims, Madhava Rao Desai (65) and Rama Rao Patil (55), were waiting for the bus at the time of the incident. It was not immediately known as to how it took place and an investigation is on. The bodies of the victims have been shifted to a local hospital for post-mortem examination, Mr. Tajuddin said.
